Nutorious

The Company is located on the island of Samos in the Eastern Aegean Sea. The island of Samos is renowned for its unique wine (Samos PDO and PGI) which has received numerous international awards. What is less known, however, is that the island has many other crops such as chestnuts, walnuts, fruit and vegetables. Following local tradition, the islanders engage with nature and cultivate crops in environmentally friendly ways.

In the post-war period (late 1940s), Samos struggled to recover from the hard times and its inhabitants mainly engaged in agricultural and maritime activities. Grandfather was a farmer and managed many different crops with fruit and vegetables, olives and pistachios. Grandmother, who was taking care of the family, was a talented cook who had built her oven with her own hands and baked the fruits that grandfather brought her with a special technique to give them a perfect aroma and taste. Father and his siblings learned all the secrets of nature and cooking from their parents and made their first steps into commerce. In the years that followed, however, father’s restless spirit and his love of flavors and good food led him to become a cook by working first on boats, and later on cruise ships.

The story revolves around Nikos (founder of Nutorious) following the example of his parents, becoming a chef, and opening his own restaurant which is tremendously successful and hosts thousands of people who visit the island. But the walks among the chestnut and walnut trees he took as a kid, the family history and his love of flavors inspired him to venture further. After 6 years of research and many trials, Nutorious  Peanut Butter made its debuts in 2017, and the response was overwhelming. Two more flavors, almond and hazelnut with to Belgian chocolate, soon followed. In 2018, Nutorious is changing its corporate identity, its products receive a new image and start to travel to other European countries.
